Our group got to read the essay "This Year In Los Angeles" , David L. Uiln. This essay talks about how his family tring to not follow their religion , they wanted to become chrirstians i think beacuse of the circumstances they were going through when they were living in the Upper East Side of Manhattan. As time went by he got married and had his sons with his wife and he decide to follow his religion, the religion that he remebers when he would go to his grandmothers house to celebrate passover, with cousins that he really did not know. eventhough he felt werid knew he was around family and he knew it felt good. I been those situations with some of my family. As in the end of the essay his father questions him about him not knowing when he became too religious for him to celebrate passover with his ownreligion which was jewish. he did not know how to answer his father question but he that what he was doin was right and he was going to celebrate it again next year.
I do not understand why they really had to stop with their religion beacuse i mean with my family no matter what i think we will stay with ours beacuse we are not ashame of it.
i dont understand some the words in this text.
Ana, Did you look up the words? Can you imagine a reason for people to hide their religion, or ethnicity, or family, or anything else about themselves?
